IIRC, Nick Fury has been Black in the Marvel-verse for a while, whether that was via the cartoon version or not I’m not sure. The cartoon version of Alicia was for sure. Iron Man, Tony Stark, wasn’t actually ever changed to a Black character, but his pilot Jim Rhodes, played by T. Howard/D. Cheadle in the films, took over the suit. Rhodes has his own suit and is called “War Machine” in the comics.

-to make wonder woman work, you’d have to play up the greek mythology angle as well as have some kick-ass creatures. the flick would have to be more fantasy than superhero/ine.

Wonder Woman is white. Period. Screwing with the history of the storyline/franchise is not a good way to begin a script if you want the mainstream to buy it. So just like I don’t want to see a white Storm, I don’t want to see a black Wonder Woman. ESPECIALLY not Beyonce, whose acting ability could be best described as confined to the restraints of a paper bag. (But if we HAD to, Gabrielle Union maybe? Hee hee.)

Hugh Jackman knew this when he took the role of Wolverine & is very serious in how he portrays Wolverine. He is careful to stay true 2 the character in every way, shape and form. He is dedicated 2 the fans. Whomever takes up the role of WW must have the same dedication & consideration in order 4 the movie 2b a success. Your 1st obligation is 2 the fans- mke them happy because they are the ones who care the most. You need 2b able 2 identify w/WW on ALL levels & Beyonce does not. Wonder Woman is already powerful. She dsnt need 2b black to prove it. It’s like Kato from Green Hornet being played by Ed Burns, Foxxy Brown by Denise Richards, Zorro by Brad Pitt, Cleopatra Jones by Meg Ryan, Shaft by George Clooney..Could You dig it? Black people would not like it if their favorite superheros were so unjustly misrepresented. They would flip & w/good reason. So keep Wonder Woman the way she was created in the comics & on TV. Beyonce is seriously overreaching & out of her league to play Wonder Woman. She simply is UNIDENTIFIABLE.

I cannot believe that Miles Marshall Lewis’ article states:

Please note that there has indeed been a movie in addition to the tv show. In 1974 Kathy Lee Crosby, a tennis player, played the role of Wonder Woman. It was said it was UNSUCCESSFUL on many levels. Hollywood changed so many aspects of Wonder Woman that the fans could not relate to her as Wonder Woman & the movie failed miserably. And she was white. So imagine Beyonce trying to be Wonder Woman.

So sorry that back in the day there were “only obviously very Waspy and whitebread” people doing the comics but whose fault was that? When they came out w/all these “white” superheros why didnt blacks make theirs too if they felt excluded? Why must the already established icons be punished & made black just to appease black people. Why not overcome this supposed “injustice” & come up with a new and better superhero? Why not encourage the black superheros you already have to make it to make it big? Are they not black enough or good enough that you feel the need to go and take a “White” superhero for your sense of justice. Reverse racism is just as ugly. And Wow, you’re so black and proud and yet you have to go after a white superhero instead of getting one of your own. oooo, Guess you showed them huh.

This is about comics. Dont lets get it twisted. The comics made WW of Greek descent. She was protrayed on TV & in the 1974 movie just as she was created in the comics. If they said lets change her to green, or red, or whatever I would protest just as loudly. Wonder Woman is not black. If they wanted to change Storm from black to white I would protest just as loudly. I like the comics the way they are & not tampered with. Simple as that.

If you look at pictures of people from that region, her honey color is exactly the color of Mrs. Carter’s. Which by the way, “Carter” is the last name of X-Wonder Woman, Linda Carter. You should always encourage young people that is at least trying to do something beside selling drugs to our children. Yes, Bey is beautiful, talented as a singer & dancer, is married to JayZ but that alone shouldnt be the deciding factor to make her “WW”.

They marry and Storm is his goddess of worship for him and his tribe. They fight together. Check out the comics,they are very strong characters, powerful.

Beyonce has plenty of options available. You have Storm, Vixen, Misty Knight, Captain Marvel/Photon/Pulsar, Nu’bia etc.. or.. Have have the initiative and the pride to start your own superhero that black girls can relate to and represent them. You dont just commodere another super hero that is already an established icon.

Beyonce is fine, but its not what Wonder Woman is about. There was more to WW than just being beautiful. Wonder Woman wasnt of African decent and mythologies. If you go by the Wonder Woman version of the Amazons, they came from Greece. To be precise they were located in Asia Minor. Present day Georgia or ancient times Sythia. That would place them in the middle of Greece and Turkey. They were later relocated to the Bermuda Triangle. Mind you relocated, they would still be greek.

To say the “White” people lie about everything and are always promoting the “white” race name one race who doesnt put their own race first. Weak race? White is a color, pigmentation. Americans are all decendents of people of other countries so which one in particular would be the weaker race? Germans? English? Russians? Spainards? French? Swedish? Irish? Africans? Indians?
